Student will compare fractions by ordering sets of fractions. Students will compare fractions with both like and unlike denominators. Additionally, students will compare fractions using <, >, or =.

Student will find the whole, or the ONE for a given set of fractions. For example: if OOO = ½, the whole would be OOOOOO. Students will use pattern blocks and counters to help visualize these problems.

Student will begin the first of a two-day lesson in which they apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication to multiply a fraction by a whole number. Students will use visual fraction models to multiply a unit fraction by a whole number.

Student will continue multiplying fractions by whole numbers.
